Uploading and downloading website files using Web Easy's FTPMax (FTP)

The following video will show you how to upload and download your website files using Web Easy's FTPMax.  This is a useful tool if you need to manually upload your changes to the web, or download your website files from the server, in case your computer crashed.  You can watch the folllowing video or get an outlined steps below.



Outlined Steps:

1. Open Web Easy
2. From the menu bar, select Tools -> Transfer Files
3. If a profile for your website shows up, press OK to connect, otherwise enter the following information:

   Profile: (enter your domain name)
   Host Name or IP address: (enter your domain name)
   User Identifier: (enter your username)
   Username: (enter your website password)

Note: If you do not know what this information is, please refer to your welcome email, open a support ticket, or call our support.

4. Press the Profile tab
5. Under Initial Remote Folder, enter "httpdocs" (without the quotes)
6. Press Ok to connect

Note: If you get a firewall prompt, allow it to go through.

To Download Files
1. While still connected, press the Browse Folder icon in the lower-right corner
2. Select your Desktop, press OK
3. Press the New button
4. Type in a name like "website backup", press OK
5. Double-click the "website backup" folder you just created
6. In the upper window, select a file
7. Hold the <CTRL> key on your keyboard, to select more files, or press the Select All button to the right
8. Press the Download button

Once it is done downloading, you should be able to double-click the "website backup" folder on your desktop and see your website files.

To Upload Files
1. While still connected, press the Browse Folder icon in the lower-right corner
2. Navigate to where your website files are stored

Note: By default, Web Easy will build your files in the \My Documents\Web Easy\HTML\[Package Name]\ folder.

3. Press OK
4. In the bottom window, select a file
5. Hold the <CTRL> key on your keyboard to select more files, or press the Select All button to the right

Note: You can also press the File for Transfer button under Smart Select.

6. If you are uploading into a sub-folder, double-click the folder in the upper window, otherwise, press the Upload button

Once it is done uploading, you should be able to see your changes on the website.
