FedEx Software Upgrade (May 2012)

What's going on?
At the end of May 2012, FedEx is changing their rate quoting software, and they will no longer be supporting the service we currently use.  As a result, certain customers will be affected.

Who's affected?
The vast majority of stores using FedEx will not be affected.  Only stores that use FedEx DISCOUNTED SHIPPING RATES will be.  Stores that have normal shipping rates (and most are) will not be affected.

How do I know if I'm using discounted shipping rates?
Discounted shipping rates are obtained through FedEx, and they may be a part of a promotion, special arrangement, or acquired through high volume sales.  Typically, you would know whether you would have a discounted shipping rate.  If you have questions, you can call FedEx.  Their phone number is at the bottom of this article.

I have a discounted shipping rate.  What do I need to do?

As of May 14, 2012 at 12pm PST, we have updated the system. If you haven’t done so, you need to obtain a new FedEx meter number and then replace the old meter number in your store.


How do I obtain a new FedEx meter number?

How do I add the new meter number?
1. Log in to your e-Store control panel
2. Go to Settings > Shipping Methods > FedEx Settings
3. Write down your old FedEx meter number
4. Replace the old FedEx meter number with the new meter number
5. Press the "Save Change" button underneath the FedEx Account Number

And that's it.  You should do a test checkout to make sure your new account is working. If there is a problem, set your account and meter to blank so that you can use our built-in account until the issue is resolved.
