Setting up Mozilla Thunderbird

 

If you would like to use Mozilla Thunderbird to check your email, this article will assist you in setting it up.  Please note the Thunderbird user interface can be a little tricky to navigate.

1. Open Mozilla Thunderbird
2. Go to Tools > Account Settings
3. Select Account Actions > Add Mail Account, as shown below:

4. Enter the following information, as shown below:


    Your Name: Enter a display name
    Email Address: Enter your email address (yourname@yourdomain.com)
    Password: Enter your email password

5. Press Continue
6. Press Manual Config
7. Enter the following information, as shown below:


    INCOMING SERVER INFORMATION
    Type: IMAP
    Server Host Name: (Do determine your Mail Server Settings, click this link)
    Port: 993
    SSL: SSL/TLS
    Authentication: Normal Password

    OUTGOING SERVER INFORMATION
    Server Host Name: (Do determine your Mail Server Settings, click this link)
    Port: 465
    SSL: SSL/TLS
    Authentication: Normal Password

8. Press Done

Working with Multiple Profiles:
If you would like to delete a POP/IMAP/SMTP profile, you must have at least 2 profiles.  You would need to mark the working profile "Set Default", then you can select the old profile and press "Remove".
